Do you need a lamp for gel polish? Start with the exact product you are buying. A lamp-cured gel needs the curing method stated in its instructions; an air-drying nail polish is a different format. Before comparing sets, separate two questions: does the product require a lamp, and does this particular package include one?
Lamp required does not mean lamp included
A product can require a nail lamp without supplying one in the box. A base and top coat set is also different from a colour set or a kit that names a light among its contents. Check the exact product page and selected option rather than assuming that every item from the same brand has the same package.

The words “with UV Light” above are part of one specific option's name. They do not describe the other options. Do not apply the gel adhesive's instructions to a remover or assume that all five choices contain the same accessories.
What if you already own a lamp?
Owning a lamp answers only part of the buying question. Check the instructions for both the selected gel and the lamp, including the specified curing method, application steps, placement and duration. A UV/LED label or wattage number alone is not confirmation that a particular gel-and-lamp combination has been validated.
Use the curing duration and application steps specified for the selected product and lamp. If those instructions are missing, clarify them with the manufacturer before use. This guide does not assign a universal cure time or explain why a particular manicure has lifted.
A kit supplied with a lamp still needs its own instructions. It does not establish that the lamp is suitable for other gels you already own. Follow the selected product's directions for base coat, colour and top coat instead of combining steps or copying a generic routine.
Check the exact listing before buying
- Confirm the product name and selected Type, especially when adhesives and removers share one page.
- Read the quantity and amount per bottle; a set's total amount is different from the amount in each bottle.
- Check whether the package explicitly lists a lamp. Product photos and a “lamp required” statement answer different questions.
- Locate the instructions for the specific product and suitable lamp before choosing a curing routine.
